Agree! caste/religion/power...@thinkingaxe,@dinesh

Agree! caste/religion/power have come to play the main role in Indian politics , which is why I would prefer an upheaval just to sort out our priorities.

Personally I don't like Mayawati but if she succeeds in this election, a serious message would be sent out to both the Sangh Parivar and the Cong that something is wrong with their priority list?

Then, it is also a fact that for the dalits to truly emerge they have to acquire their share of political power.

Finally, talking about power, any non-Cong non-BJP party would have so many strings attached that it might not be in a position to abuse power much.

So in a manner when I say Mayawati, I mean the "3rd front" coming into existenceDanishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01636779341430888553noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5898884975928370166.post-46768235261081617712009-05-04T19:54:00.000+05:302009-05-04T19:54:00.000+05:30Somehow, I beg to differ with your views about May...Somehow, I beg to differ with your views about Mayawati. Believe me, if you unfold the history of Indian politics, you will find that time to time, politicians cutting across party lines used to play the caste or communal card for their own vested interest. just to name few like Advani, Shibu Soren, Modi, V.P. Singh etc. So we should not expect a miracle from Mayawati.

Please take it for granted if people like Mayawati, Modi, Mulayam or Lalu will hold the key post like a Prime Minister, it will be very likely a state of anarchy in the country. Somebody had said that to test a character of a person give him power. So we have already seen the ruins these people have done so far. So in that case we should not be more adventurous.

Issues related to social injustice on the basis of caste, creed and religion should not be entertained at all. It is also fact that Naxalism has its deep roots to feudalism. Yes, India is going through a transition phase of political uncertainty, where value based politics has gone to oblivion. In that place money and muscle power are the only tools to power. To find a solution, I think there are many better ways to find a solution. Hope “We the People of India” have the ability to set a path for a bright future of India for which we should be proud of.Dineshnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5898884975928370166.post-9860293033944008552009-05-04T14:18:00.000+05:302009-05-04T14:18:00.000+05:30I am from Allahabad, and am a little aware of what...I am from Allahabad, and am a little aware of what happens behind the face of politics. Dalits in UP are much more economically and socially behind as compared to other states... reason being non-upliftment of society as a whole... Politicians have focused so much on caste/religion/power politics that creating business, developing the state has so far been neglected... the political Apathy has resulted in nurturing goons rather tha business Tycoons.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
